Athlon Car Lease and De Lage Landen leverage synergies to enhance customer value

De Lage Landen and its car lease unit Athlon Car Lease are working towards  a more unified customer proposition, domestically as well as internationally. Both are leveraging synergies in order to further align their strategy. The formation of Athlon’s new Management Team is an important step in achieving this goal.

“The changes in the Management Team resulted from an internal project re-investigating the structure and organization of Athlon Car Lease”, says Athlon Car Lease’s President Hans Blink. “We believe that with the new Management Team and further organizational changes resulting from the project we will be able to improve the collaboration and efficiency within the total organization of De Lage Landen and are optimally prepared for the future”.

The new Management Team, which will assume leadership of the business as of June 2010, will consist of Athlon Car Lease’s President Hans Blink, Paul Harms and Jacq van Roij.

Paul Harms, former General Manager of Athlon Car Lease France, Spain and Portugal, will take on the role of the Executive Vice President Athlon Car Lease Netherlands. Jacq van Roij, previously Senior Project Manager at Athlon Car Lease’s mother company De Lage Landen, will assume the role of the Executive Vice President of Athlon Car Lease International. The management triangle will act as a single decision making unit for the overall business, all three responsible for the Dutch as well as the International part.

Richard Sikkel, General Manager of Athlon Car Lease Netherlands up to now, will in turn join the Management Team of Athlon Car Lease International in the role of Senior Vice President Commerce. Valentijn de Jong, former Senior Vice President Commerce at Athlon Car Lease International, will take on the position of Senior Vice President Business Development and Quality.
