De Lage Landen signs joint venture agreement with Truckland
On June 30, a joint venture was signed between De Lage Landen International B.V. and Truckland Group, which will operate under the name of Truckland Lease. The new joint venture allows Truckland to offer “in house” financing solutions to their customers. The financing can be tailored to the specific customer needs, and will be backed by the stability of the transportation finance specialist De Lage Landen.
Truckland is a multi-brand dealer of commercial vehicles based in the Netherlands. “The relationship between Truckland and De Lage Landen started with DAF Financial Services, a former joint vendor between De Lage Landen en DAF.” explains Michel Steijaert, currently Transportation Program Manager of De Lage Landen and former Account Manager of DAF Financial Services. “Truckland already proved to be a very loyal partner to De Lage Landen under the DAF Financial Services program. In combination with their international growth ambitions, it gave De Lage Landen sufficient reasons to investigate a new partnership. This new joint venture demonstrates De Lage Landens’ ability and ambition in today’s economic climate.”
De Lage Landen supports Truckland in their strategy to increase their sales and direct involvement in growing the lease penetration. In the future De Lage Landen will also support the international expansion of Truckland. “At this moment up to 95% of all Truckland’s sales are financed, out of which approximately 40% through Truckland’s direct involvement,” states Jan van Beek, the newly appointed Managing Director of Truckland Lease. “Now we are able to offer Truckland’s customers an in-house finance solution at ‘point of sale’, which will result in one-stop-shop and better service for the customers. We have demonstrated our expertise in the Transporation industry through our former cooperation with DAF (the joint venture DAF Financial Services) and our current successful joint venture with Schmitz Cargobull (Cargobull Finance). So I’m very confident we will make this close cooperation a success too!”
