De Lage Landen launches Global Business Unit Transportation

Eindhoven, The Netherlands, 1st October – De Lage Landen International B.V. today announces the renaming of its Global Business Unit (GBU) from Trucks and Trailers to Transportation as a reflection of the company’s strategic commitment to, and expanding scope in the terrestrial transportation market.

The GBU has developed expertise in the road transport market segment since 1996 and amongst other programs currently includes the joint venture Cargobull Finance. Leveraging on its extensive knowledge and experience, the GBU Transportation will expand its focus to win new finance programs with a focus on cargo transport, the public transportation sector, and the fleet management of commercial vehicles and equipment.

“We have numerous industry opportunities, and also internal opportunities, that capitalize on our market knowledge, internal synergies, and cross selling, in order to grow and develop further our presence within the global transportation market. We believe that we are uniquely placed to offer customers a full range of financial solutions that truly add value to our customers,” states Simon Davies, President of the newly renamed GBU.

Geographical expansion is another key area for the GBU. “We are working on increasing our global presence and are currently expanding rapidly in central and eastern Europe. Other markets are also being investigated and supported as each business case demands,” confirms Davies, providing more details of what can be expected from the GBU in the future. 

 “Our recent experiences and research has led us to conclude that there are many, many opportunities in the global terrestrial transportation market. We are adjusting our market position to realize these opportunities with this simple change of name, which in turn will focus our activities to best satisfy our customers and our shareholder.”
