Community involvement

We seek to have a positive impact on the local community we operate in by contributing both money and manpower to local projects and charities.

Examples of these local projects are:

Main Sponsor Marathon Eindhoven
We have been the main sponsor of the Eindhoven Marathon since 2004. The Marathon is the largest annual event in Eindhoven, the city where our head office is based. Its international flavor and focus on achieving ambitions make the event a strong fit with our company values. We sponsor the Marathon itself, and the De Lage Landen Company Run.

Sri Lanka Orphanage Foundation
We are supporting the Sri Lanka Orphanage Foundation and contribute financially to an orphanage in the town of Koggala. Created after the devastating tsunami of 2004, the orphanage has grown to accommodate more than 200 children. Our donations, which include contributions from De Lage Landen employees all around the world, have sponsored the building of three residential pavilions.

In addition our employees volunteered and initiated numerous local activities benefitting: United Way, Toys for Tots, Make a wish foundation and many others.

In the Netherlands De Lage Landen participates in the Share4More initiative for Rabobank employees. This fund is established by the staff of the Rabobank in 2004. Employees can participate in the Share4More fund by donating 4 euro of their wages. This amount will be doubled by the board of directors of the Rabobank. The Share4More donations will be mainly devoted to small-scale projects abroad. These projects are well checked and work complement and strengthen the activities of the Rabobank Development Program of the Rabobank Foundation.
