De Lage Landen, the Dutch entry in the Clipper 11-12 Round the World Yacht Race, has arrived in Qingdao, China, on February 22nd to a hero’s welcome, after taking its first victory in one of the toughest legs of the world’s longest ocean race.

The World Wide Fund was chosen as our official charity partner, and throughout the race our crew members will raise money for the coral reef projects in Wakatobi.

Less than one month before the race starts in Southampton (31st July), De Lage Landen proudly announces its partnership with Den Helder to jointly host the Clipper fleet in the Netherlands on its final leg home mid-July 2012.

Jose Campos, Brazil, is to the first member from De Lage Landen to board our yacht at the race start, taking its first journey across the Atlantic Ocean.
